January is finally winding down and we are inching ourselves closer to the prospect of nice weather. It’s time to get excited for February. Just because it is the shortest month of the year, doesn’t mean it can’t be one of the best. We’re one step closer to summer and the days are getting noticeably longer. We’ve always seemed to feature water for our February wallpaper, so we’ve decided to embrace this theme. Who doesn’t love water? As a result, we searched to find the bluest of blues for our selection, and decided this view above the Howe Sound just outside of Squamish, BC would be the perfect addition to our monthly wallpaper feature for February.
We have some really fun adventures for the coming weeks. Our plans include exploring the fridge, the back yard and searching our hard drives for pictures to share. 2021 wasn’t always supposed to be like this. We had some really big travel plans for this year, but we’ve made the best of the situation and found a way to enjoy the world around us. With all the fun things we have planned for the rest of the month, we should be wishing that it was a leap year so we could take advantage of the extra day.
We’re lucky to be “stranded” in Vancouver right now, and it’s been a mild winter. Once we’re allowed to explore locally again, we have some fun road trip plans for British Columbia. Until then, we’re staying bored just like everyone else.
A month of milestones, Personal achievements & celebrations
Let’s hope that the groundhog has good news for us. February is one of our favourite months, so we’re excited to get started. We have many reasons to be excited for the month ahead. In less than a week, we will be celebrating our 4 year anniversary, and a few shorts days after that, it will be my (Rob’s) birthday.
February also marks another 3 year milestone, as Travel Around the Galaxy will be celebrating it’s own birthday. We have a lot going on. We might even make plans to go out to a restaurant for a sit down dinner! Now that’s special! It’s been a tough year for everyone, but just remember there is light at the end of the tunnel. We hope our desktop wallpapers will bring a little joy into your day.
This is the third edition of our February wallpaper. In the past we have featured incredible views from Venice – taken above the Grand Canal from the top of The Church of San Giorgio Maggiore – and from the Huacachina Oasis in Peru, a small lagoon / refuge from the harshness of the surrounding deserts. If you like your water to be in motion, you’re in luck, as we also have an incredible waterfall shot from Iguazu. This year, we have added the aforementioned shot from Murrin Provincial Park (overlooking the Howe Sound) and a beautiful shot from Isla Holbox in Mexico.
Creating these desktop wallpapers has been a monthly feature of ours since 2018, as a fun way of showcasing pictures from some of the amazing places we’ve visited. We hope you enjoy our latest installment and are excited for our March wallpaper coming soon!
