August always feels like peak summer in the northern hemisphere. This is partly because growing up it was the last month before going back to school. It was time to take things seriously as the days start getting shorter. September always felt like a deadline. We’re taking August very seriously this year too. We have some pretty big plans. After being trapped on Cozumel for the last 5 months, we’re setting ourselves free. Today we’re sharing our latest monthly desktop wallpaper, with a beautiful condor stretching out its wings.
This photo was taken at the Colca Canyon at a viewpoint known as the Cruz del Condor. This point is a few hour drive from Arequpia in Peru. We were super lucky and saw many condors flying above the canyon, which just happens to be one of the deepest canyons in the world at 3200 meters -almost twice as deep as the Grand Canyon. Shortly after this, we went for a 2 day trek towards the bottom of the canyon (and back up again). Visiting the Colca Canyon, Cruz del Condor and Arequpia was one of our favourite trips in Peru/
After being idle for several months during the peak of the pandemic, we are now going full speed ahead. We had an incredible July this year and can’t wait to get started on the adventures ahead of us. One thing is for sure, 2020 will be a year that neither of us will forget.
We hope you enjoy our latest desktop wallpaper. Beginning in 2018, we began creating desktop wallpapers as a monthly feature as a fun way of showcasing pictures from some of the amazing places we’ve visited. We hope you enjoy our latest installment and are looking forward to our September wallpaper coming soon! Happy travels!
