The Leap year comes once every four years, which makes February 2020 a little bit extra special. February will always be the shortest month, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be one of the best! To celebrate the start of the 2nd month of the new decade, we’re showcasing the famous canals of Venice. This photo was taken above the Grand Canal from the top of The Church of San Giorgio Maggiore. It is one of the best views in the city.
We have many reasons to be excited for this upcoming February. The weather on Cozumel is still cool and the humidity hasn’t returned from its winter slumber. We have some fun adventures planned for the next few weeks, both on and off the island. In less than a week, we will be celebrating our 3 year anniversary, and a few shorts days after that, it will be Rob’s birthday. To top things off, we will be going to Puerto Vallarta for a friend’s wedding on the 29th, so we have lots of reasons to be excited.
With so many fun things planned, its a good thing we get the extra day. We are planning to make full use of our extra 24 hours. This month, our monthly wallpaper appears to have inadvertently taken on a water theme. Last year, we shared a picture from the Oasis of Huacachina in Peru, and our cell phone background is from Iguazu Falls in Argentina. I guess it seems fitting since the Aquarius sign is about to come into the skies above.
Our featured photo is from Venice, one of the most beautiful cities in Italy. While most people stay at water level and choose to experience the canals from a boat or gondola (which are prohibitively expensive), I wanted to go up. During a 2015 trip, I decided to find a new vantage point high above, and this photo was the result. Venice is made up of many smaller islands, so moving around by water bus between islands is something you quite literally can’t avoid.
This island was located just across from St Marks Square, and is where you will find the beautiful Church of San Giorgio Maggiore. Go inside, find the way to the top and you will soon discover the best view in the city.
We hope everyone is excited to celebrate the extra day in February and find something exciting to do on the 29th. We have been creating desktop wallpapers as a monthly feature since 2018 as a fun way of showcasing pictures from some of the amazing places we’ve visited. We hope you enjoy our latest installment and are excited for our March wallpaper coming soon!
