It’s almost time to start counting down the hours and minutes until the new year. January is almost here, and as a result, we will soon be changing the pages of the calendar. Not only will we be turning the page to a New Year, but we will also be turning the page on a new decade.Bring on the roaring 20s! This year we will be spending NYE on the Riviera Maya, as we will be count down the final hours on the beach in Puerto Morellos. To celebrate the end of the year, we are sharing our latest desktop wallpaper, featuring the lighthouse at Punta Sur.
Punta Sur is one of our favourite attractions on Cozumel; the beach is beautiful, there is an incredible reef to snorkel above and the view from the top of Celarain Lighthouse is incredible. Parque Punta Sur is a 247-acre ecological park at the southern point of Cozumel. It is part of the greater Arrecifes de Cozumel National Park that contains all the reefs, beaches, lagoons, and low forest of the surrounding area.
For anyone who visits the island, this is our top choice to spend your day. It combines all the best things that Cozumel has to offer.
Alongside the beach (which is probably the nicest on the island) there is a small Mayan Ruins, a lagoon with crocodiles, the view from the top of Celarin lighthouse and the incredible underwater reef. We’ve shared our love for Punta Sur on several occasions, so have a look here to see some of our adventures from the southern end of Cozumel.
The new year promises new adventures and a fresh start for many. While we don’t consider ourselves the New Years resolutions type, it’s always nice to welcome the new year with optimism. January always offers plenty of promise.
We have many incredible adventures planned over the next few months and we will start finalizing our plans soon. Until then, we would like to share our latest installment of our Desktop Wallpaper series. 2020 is new chapter of our lives that we are excited to begin writing. We’re excited to explore the world and share our adventures!
If only we could peek into the future and see what the new year holds; unfortunately we don’t have 2020 vision (sorry, I couldn’t resist). Since 2018, we have been creating desktop wallpapers as a monthly feature, showcasing pictures from some of the amazing places we visited. We hope you enjoy our latest installment and are excited for our February wallpaper coming soon!
