March is nearly over and we’re about to flip the calendar into April. I guess the saying is true, time flies when you’re having fun. As of March 21st, we have officially entered spring in the northern hemisphere. This means that the cycle of rebirth will begin again; the snow will start to melt and the flowers will start to bloom. Spring has arrived! We visited the Canadian Rockies this last October and our visit coincided with the first snowfall. It was a chilling reminder of how quickly winter can take back the landscape. Winter is finally over and its time to celebrate.
During our trip we were lucky to see many beautiful mountain lakes, the landscape wearing the first snowfall, but the lakes were not yet covered in ice. Emerald Lake, part of Yoho National Park, will be melting soon, making it accessible to the red canoes and the surrounding trails suitable for long hikes. For this reason, we have selected this picture for our monthly wallpaper feature. Emerald Lake is one of the most beautiful in British Columbia, and definitely worth visiting if you have time.
We visited Emerald Lake last October; winter was arriving and we didn’t get to experience it in it’s true glory. The lake is best viewed in late spring, when the mountain runoff is combined with small limestone particles from the mountains, it makes the lake shine in bright colours. We have featured a lot of content from the Canadian Rockies over the last few months, and our trip was one of our top highlights from 2018. Emerald lake was one of the places that deserves a second visit.
We will be celebrating the last week of March by taking a trip to New York City. As this post automatically sends itself to the vastness of the internet, we will be on our way, somewhere in the airspace above the mainland United States. We are super excited for this adventure, and we will have 4 full days to explore everything that is New York. Stay tuned for more updates from our latest adventure in the near future.
Creating beautiful desktop wallpapers is our newest monthly feature that we have been working on for 2019, showcasing pictures from some of the amazing places we have traveled over the last few years. We hope you enjoy! Stay tuned for our May wallpaper coming up in only a few weeks.
