Sunsets on Cozumel – vol. 1
Cozumel is a Caribbean island located about 30-km off the coast from Playa del Carmen, Mexico on the Yucatan Peninsula. Unlike the rest of the Riviera Maya, it is one of the few places you can watch the sunset over the water, something that we missed while living in Playa del Carmen. The crystal blue waters, vibrant colours in the clouds and peaceful surroundings keep bringing us back for more. These pictures speak for themselves.
We try to watch at least 1 or 2 sunsets from the water a week, and as a result, we have a growing collection of beautiful shots. We have found several great spots to hang out for sunset, including our favourite, Puerto Abrigo. It is such an incredible place to watch the sunset, and on many occasions, we bring our fancy cameras and have captured some spectacular scenes.
We got back to the island together 6-weeks ago and so far the sunsets have been amazing. Norma has lived here continuously since April and has seen too many great sunsets to count (Rob was in Canada this summer taking Fraser River Sunsets instead). We have so many great pictures collecting dust in the digital closet that need to be shared. We plan on capturing many more months of sunsets on the island, so stay tuned for more!
It really doesn’t feel like we need much more than an introduction than that; Cozumel is such a great place to watch the sunset. Enjoy.

We love Cozumel and go there quite often. We are scuba divers, and we travel the world, but Cozumel is always our favorite place to dive.
We both Snorkel quite often on the island, and it is amazing. Norma scuba dives and Rob will be getting his certification in the next few weeks, so we’re excited to explore this magical underwater playground!
Once you start diving, you’ll never want to go back to snorkeling.
Haha. One of the reasons i want to wait just a little bit. Cozumel is good for both, we will still snorkel because its free.
Very true. Diving is very addictive and it is definitely not cheap. I am a Rescue Diver, and would love to work my way up to Master Diver.

Cozumel is my favorite place in Riviera Maya…I have so many beautiful memories from there and the sunset is really stunning
We live here now and watch as many sunsets as possible! It’s just so beautiful every time, it makes us feel so lucky!

It’s a great place to live during the winter months where it is cold everywhere else. Cost is living can be very low and we are close to the water. Playa del Carmen is a fun place to live too.
I love Playa del Carmen for the animated night life but I am actually seeing myself living in Tulum❤️
We lived there for years and rarely went “out” (nice to have the option) but loved all the great food. Tulum and Puerto Morellos would be our choice if we move back to that side.
Nothing beats a good relaxing sunset! so chill.
