Hiking Around Lake Louise

Kicking off what will soon be an avalanche of pictures and stories from the Canadian Rockies, today we have published the latest video from our travel adventures. Lake Louise (located in Banff National Park in Alberta) is one of the most popular destinations in the Canadian Rockies and it’s easy to see why. The view of towering mountains, glaciers and the crystal clear water of the Lake is an unbelievable thing to see with your own eyes. We had an afternoon to explore the lake and some of the beautiful surroundings, and it was one of the most amazing moments of our trip.

Our trip to the Canadian Rockies lasted only 9 days, but we filled our time with enough memories to last a lifetime. We have a lot of really great pictures, video, and stories from our recent adventures and will begin publishing these over the next few weeks. The Canadian Rockies were such an amazing place, and we want to give ourselves time to sort our pictures before posting them. We have decided to kick things off with a bang; our first Rocky Mountain video featuring our adventures from Lake Louise.

The incredible views found past the end of Lake Louise. 2018.

We spent the night in the town of Lake Louise and woke up early to get a head start on the day.  We were delivered a crushing defeat when we got the unfortunate news that the road to Moraine Lake was closed for the winter. While we were disappointed, we decided to continue onwards and the make the best of our day; the Canadian Rockies were full of amazing sights, and we would easily find something amazing to see elsewhere. We had already planned on visiting Lake Louise, but now we would give ourselves a little bit longer to explore the lake before continuing along the highway towards Banff.

We hadn’t really planned on going for a “hike” into the mountains; we had set out for a short walk along the edge of the lake to get a different perspective before heading back to the car to continue our adventures elsewhere. The further we walked the fewer people we saw along the trails and the more we began to enjoy ourselves. When we arrived at the end of the lake, we saw the path kept going and so did we.

We knew we would find an incredible view if we “just kept going a little further” and we kept pushing each other to do so. When we arrived at our final destination, we were not disappointed. The view of towering mountains and the glaciers up close and personal was an incredible sight! Behind us was the beautiful Lake Louise down in the valley below, and we surrounded by a 360-degree view of the majesty of the mountains.

This “short walk” turned our day into an unexpected multi-hour hike into the beautiful wilderness and this video is a testament to our amazing day. We hope you enjoy watching our latest video “Hiking Around Lake Louise” as much as we did making it.

Hiking Around Lake Louise:

Lake Louise is one of the highlights of any trip to the Canadian Rockies. It was the busiest (and one of the most beautiful) places we visited during our 9-day adventure. We had planned on going for a short walk around Lake Louise and ended up on a more than 2-hour hike into the mountains. We just kept pushing ourselves to go “just a little bit further” in search of a better view. When you see the beautiful location that we ended up at, you can understand why this is considered one of the most beautiful places in Banff National Park.

  1. What a fantastic reward at the end of your hike. It looks cold though, not sure if I’d be able for that. Delicate Irish skin. Really enjoying some of the sights you saw on your Canadian trip. What an amazing landscape. Thanks for sharing.
